What is the core loop in Cameraman Tower Defense?
Lobby → map pad → difficulty vote → place units → clear waves → win Coins. The Roblox API description (Aligators Games, Place ID 132929771812494) says you step on a platform to start, place cameramen and allied units against invading toilets, and beat waves to win. CTD Tips is a fan site; we learned the loop from that official blurb plus October Update 3 footage, not from private developer docs.

What should you do in the Lobby first?
Use Units to equip up to five towers on your hotbar (costs like $100–$800 appear on icons). Shop holds Robux crates, gems, codes, and gamepasses—see shop and crates. Trading exists in Update 3 UI; we have not verified trades on this Place ID. Quests unlock after 20+ wins on the sidebar in footage we reviewed.
Grab free Coins when codes work via all codes and redeem steps after three wins.
How do map choice and difficulty voting work?
Walk onto a map platform (labels such as Toilet City are visible in lobby captures). When the lobby fills, you vote Easy, Normal, Hard, or Insane—each card shows wave count, Coin payout, rarity hint, and a crate bonus line.

Full numbers and strategy per mode are in difficulty modes. Beginners should learn on Easy (20 waves, 100 Coins in this capture) before chasing Insane payouts.
What happens during intermission and placement?
Between waves you get Intermission time, optional Auto Skip, and speed toggles (x1, x1.5, x2 in various frames). You start with a cash pool (for example $200 in one Easy run) separate from lobby Coins.

Click a hotbar slot, place on valid tiles, R to rotate, X to stop placing—those prompts appear on-screen during placement in MeddysonTD’s run.

The Units X/15 counter tracks how many towers are on the field. Upgrade or sell via the unit panel when you select a placed cameraman.
Which units should beginners prioritize?
Economy first: Scientist Cameraman donations and wave-clear bonuses snowball in-match cash—details in coins and economy and our Scientist Cameraman page.
Cheap damage: In Menzi’s tier video (uanOCZWvcXQ), Ninja Cameraman and Large Cameraman show $200 placement costs with strong DPS scaling on the stat cards—community opinion, not a dev tier list. Compare broader rankings on /units/tier-list/ and /units/best-units/.
Code tie-in: The active Engineer code name matches the exotic spawner many guides discuss—see /units/engineer/ once you unlock it.

What does a first win pay?
This Easy Toilet City clear shows 100 match Coins plus event/boost lines totaling 400 lobby Coins—boosts change with live events.

Next steps: learn maps labels, read the Update 3 log, and only then spend Robux in Shop.
