FAQ

What is Upgraded Brute Prototype max DPS in Cameraman Tower Defense?
PUHLO's inventory and hotbar cards read Mythic AoE with DPS scaling 400 to 9000, Damage 200 to 3600, Cooldown 0.5 to 0.4, and Range 13 to 30. Elite Titan Tv Man's Level 6 panel shows 9000 DPS at 0.4 cooldown—confirm on your Units screen after patches.
How much does it cost to max Upgraded Brute Prototype?
Vaulted Values X narrates about 41000 cash to max in their tier list. Elite Titan Tv Man's level panels read upgrade buttons of 2500, 3500, 6500, 11000, and 16000 (39500 in total) and the hotbar placement cost is 1500, so our arithmetic gives 1500 + 39500 = 41000, matching VVX. MeddysonTD says the improved Brute prototype “seems even cheaper to improve” without naming a comparison unit or quoting a total.
What is the Brute Prototype drop rate?
Vaulted Values X places it in the rotating basic crate mythic slot at 0.1% when that row is active—the same 1-in-1000 line as Titan Cinemaman in their reads. We did not read Brute odds on a dedicated crate board in our kept frames; check the live mythic row before spending coins.
Is Upgraded Brute Prototype in the paid prototype pack?
Vaulted Values X says Glitch Cameraman, the Brute Prototype, and the Video Tapper Prototype come together in one paid pack, but all three also roll in the coin mythic slot, so check that slot before paying—see the all units table and shop guide.
How many Upgraded Brute Prototypes can you place?
Wi - Fi's Insane footage shows a red banner reading placement limit four for Upgraded Brute Prototype, and PUHLO says you can install four of them at about 1:32. Vaulted Values X Insane survey lists Video Tapper six but does not name a Brute cap—trust the banner if your lobby differs.
Is Brute Prototype better than Videotapper Prototype?
Vaulted Values X ranks Brute higher on splash DPS (9000 vs 7500) but nearly double the cash to max (~41000 vs ~21000). Wi - Fi ends undecided after side-by-side tests; Videotapper solo Insane proof and full upgrade curves live on the Videotapper Prototype page.
Can Upgraded Brute Prototype beat Insane mode solo?
Vaulted Values X names no solo Brute win in their Insane survey narration. They report a Brute plus Videotapper team cleared Insane in 10 minutes 34 seconds; see the duo mode guide. PUHLO's Brute test run reaches about Wave 38 on camera, which we treat as one creator session, not a verified win.

What is the Upgraded Brute Prototype in Cameraman Tower Defense?

The Units menu usually labels this tower Upgraded Brute Prototype (YouTube titles often shorten it to Brute Prototype; MeddysonTD says improved Brute prototype in voiceover). It is an Update 3 mythic AoE carry with the highest splash DPS on-card among coin-crate mythics in Vaulted Values X tier talk—below TV Spider exclusives on paper.

This page mixes frame readouts from PUHLO (-RoM_A1ScS8, who also narrates—see ~62s), Elite Titan Tv Man (Testing & Showcasing NEW Brute and Videotaper, zp5wimll8hE) and Wi - Fi (WHICH IS BETTER? Brute vs Videotapper, QOj5DYZPdzU), plus Vaulted Values X (VVX) voiceover from Tier List After Update 3, How To Get Every Unit, and How To Beat Insane Mode (no VVX screenshots—burned-in subtitles). We have not re-tested any of it in-game.

How do you get the Brute Prototype?

Vaulted Values X says Upgraded Brute Prototype shares the basic coin crate mythic slot at 0.1% when that row is active, rotating with Titan Cinemaman, Upgraded Titan Speakerman, Glitch Cameraman, and Upgraded Video Tapper Prototype (the 0.1% line is at MhtBS1AEEwo ~32–64s, the rotation list at ~219s). VVX also says Glitch Cameraman, the Brute Prototype, and the Video Tapper Prototype come together in a paid pack, but all three also roll in the coin mythic slot, so check that slot before paying (~532s). Full slot math and pull in 10s coin savings are on all units and shop and crates.

Our arithmetic (at least one mythic-slot pull at p = 0.1%): using 1-(1-p)^n with 900 coins per ten-pull (100000 ÷ 900 ≈ 1111 ten-pulls per 100k coins matches the all-units page):

Target chance Single pulls n (rounded up) Coins at 100/pull Coins via ten-pull (900 each)
50% 693 69,300 63,000 (70 batches)
90% 2,302 230,200 207,900 (231 batches)
99% 4,603 460,300 414,900 (461 batches)

Vaulted Values X also cites ~90,000 coins average for one mythic pull at 0.1% with ten-pull pricing—not a guarantee. Double Luck and luck potions change displayed odds on slots under 10% in their examples (MhtBS1AEEwo ~127s).

We did not read a 0.3% Brute line on any crate board in kept frames (some Shorts titles mention 0.3%—treat as unverified unless your Shop UI shows it).

How strong is the Brute Prototype, and is maxing it worth it?

Vaulted Values X says Upgraded Brute Prototype reaches 9,000 splash damage a second but maxing costs 41,000 cash, so it only takes over late in a match (lRtpetkMJZs ~30–61s). MeddysonTD says the improved Brute prototype hits 9,000 damage per second and “seems even cheaper to improve” (BvvGAZLRC2U ~361s)—he does not name the unit he is comparing against (just before, he called another unit’s 19,000 full upgrade too expensive), so treat it as a subjective impression, not a line-item total. PUHLO is mixed: at full build he says you get 9,000 AoE “don’t forget” (~92s), then calls the $11,000 step “simply worthless” (~152s) before adding that it is not useless because it opens the final upgrade and the AoE circle (~183s).

Upgrade panels we kept:

  • Level 4 (~744s Wi - Fi): Damage 1500 (+300), Range 22 (+3), Cooldown 0.4, upgrade button $11,000 (this panel has no DPS row; Elite’s matching panel reads DPS 3750, in the ladder table below).
  • Level 5 (~712s Wi - Fi): Damage 1800 (+1800), Range 25 (+5), Cooldown 0.4, upgrade button $16,000 to reach Level 6.
  • Level 6 max (~84s Elite): Range 30, Cooldown 0.4, DPS 9,000, Max Level button greyed.

Full upgrade ladder (frame readouts, Elite Titan Tv Man, zp5wimll8hE):

Level DPS Upgrade button to the next level Elite video time
1 400 $2,500 ~1s
2 1,250 $3,500 ~16s
3 2,250 $6,500 ~26s
4 3,750 $11,000 ~36s
5 4,500 $16,000 ~56s
6 (max) 9,000 Max Level ~84s

Our arithmetic: 2,500 + 3,500 + 6,500 + 11,000 + 16,000 = 39,500 for the five upgrades, plus the $1,500 hotbar placement cost gives 41,000—the same total Vaulted Values X narrates for maxing, so that figure is consistent with the panels. Level 1 DPS is 200 ÷ 0.5 (its panel lists damage and cooldown, not DPS); wave income and trades are not counted.

Placement limit: a red banner reads You reached placement limit for Upgraded Brute Prototype! (4) (QOj5DYZPdzU ~736s). PUHLO says you can place four, same as Titan Cinemaman (-RoM_A1ScS8 ~92s). Vaulted Values X lists Video Tapper 6 in their Insane cap table but does not name Brute (ss-cPRq3kBA ~307s).

Brute Prototype vs Videotapper Prototype: which is better?

Vaulted Values X says Upgraded Brute Prototype wins raw splash DPS (9,000 vs 7,500) but costs about 41,000 cash to max versus 21,000 on Upgraded Videotapper Prototype, and Brute peaks later while Videotapper carries their solo Insane proof sample (lRtpetkMJZs ~30–61s). Full Videotapper panels and six-copy solo context are on the Videotapper Prototype unit page—not duplicated here.

Wi - Fi says the Videotapper’s upgrades are “not that expensive” and cost less than the Brute’s, which has “a lot of leveling up” (QOj5DYZPdzU ~153s). He calls the Brute’s 9k DPS “probably the strongest titan right now” (~406s), recalls maxing only two Brutes in an earlier attempt before losing (~468s), finds the four-Brute placement limit (~716s), and ends undecided: “I don’t even know which one is better” (~776s).

Unit (VVX tier narration) Max splash DPS Cash to max (VVX) Notes
Upgraded Brute Prototype 9,000/s ~41,000 4 placement cap in Wi - Fi frames
Upgraded Videotapper Prototype 7,500/s ~21,000 6 cap in VVX Insane table; solo win cited
Titan Cinemaman 7,000/s ~38,000 Two Insane wins in the tier list; other VVX videos say five wins and 40,000 to max
Glitch Cameraman 6,000/s ~13,500 Wins only inside mythic teams in VVX survey

Can the Brute Prototype beat Insane mode?

Vaulted Values X names no solo Brute Insane win in their Insane survey narration—they highlight six Videotapper Prototype solo instead (ss-cPRq3kBA ~31–61s). Vaulted Values X reports a Brute plus Videotapper team won Insane in 10 minutes and 34 seconds, while the only prototype loss they found used five to seven units with not enough cash to upgrade (ss-cPRq3kBA ~154s). Elevator rules and co-op scaling sit on /guides/duo-mode/.

PUHLO reaches about Wave 38 in his Upgraded Brute Prototype test, spamming Jetpacks to survive (~217s). At the fiftieth wave he says you could place four, but you “simply physically won’t be able to install four of them” because it costs “an insane amount of money” (~247s)—creator session, not a win-screen proof we kept.

Editorial suggestion (untested): budget Scientist Cameraman donations or sell starters before spamming a fourth Brute if you mirror VVX’s cash-starved prototype loss pattern.
