FAQ

How do you get gems in Cameraman Tower Defense?
Vaulted Values X says quests unlock after 20 wins and pay five gems per completed task with four tasks visible at once. MeddysonTD calls gems scarce and says quests seem to pay five each in his Spider Crate video—not proof of the 20-win gate or board size. We have not verified other free sources or refresh timers ourselves.
How many gems does each quest give?
Vaulted Values X’s unit guide and tier-list videos both describe five gems per quest, or 20 gems if you clear all four board slots. MeddysonTD’s voiceover only guesses five per quest. Treat payouts as early Update 3 creator readouts, not live guarantees.
How much does the Exclusive Spider Crate cost in gems?
Shop footage lists Buy 1 for 100 gems, Buy 3 for 300, and Buy 10 for 1000 gems with no per-pull discount versus singles. MeddysonTD’s October recording could use Buy 3 but reported the Buy 10 shop button disabled on his account while a separate confirm dialog still offered Open 10 from stored crates.
What are the Exclusive Spider Crate drop rates?
The on-screen board in MeddysonTD’s shop capture and Vaulted Values X’s guide both read 90% Speaker Spider, 9.8% Camera Spider, and 0.2% TV Spider. Each pull is independent; buying three or ten at once does not change those percentages.
How many gems does a TV Spider cost on average?
Vaulted Values X narrates about 500 pulls at 100 gems each, or 50,000 gems, for one TV Spider at 0.2%. Our arithmetic on the same rate gives a 50% chance of at least one TV Spider after 347 single pulls (34,700 gems) and 90% after 1151 pulls (115,100 gems)—independent pulls, not pity.
Can you buy ten Spider Crates at once?
The Shop UI shows a 1000-gem Buy 10 bundle in early-October footage. MeddysonTD could not press Buy 10 in the shop in his TV Spider video but later saw Open 1 and Open 10 on a confirmation popup when opening Exclusive Spider Crates from inventory.

This guide covers Update 3 (October 2026) gem income and Exclusive Spider Crate spending. For Robux Scientist crates and pack prices, stay on shop and crates. For lobby Coins and in-match cash, see coins and economy. TV Spider stats and all units drop tables live on their own pages.

What are gems in Cameraman Tower Defense?

Gems are the blue-diamond lobby currency added in Update 3. Lobby footage summarized on our update log shows Gems + Spiders Update banners and gem-priced Shop rows—in every capture we reviewed, the clearest gem sink is the Exclusive Spider Crate, not tower placement cash and not win Coins.

MeddysonTD’s inventory clips show the gem counter beside Coins on the bottom HUD (528s). Opening many crates fills Units → Inventory toward the 500 slot cap seen at 68/500 after his bulk Spider pulls (270s).

How do you get gems for free?

Vaulted Values X says gems come from quests that appear after 20 wins, pay five gems per quest, and show four quests at once—examples include beating Hard or clearing a mode with only one hotbar slot (MhtBS1AEEwo ~5:46). Vaulted Values X also says a full board is worth 20 gems when all four finish.

MeddysonTD says gems are “almost non-existent” in the economy right now and that quests “seem” to give five gems each—his auto-caption literally says “five stars per quest” (zHfmcl5zdBo ~10:02). That aligns with Vaulted Values X on payout size only; he does not confirm the 20-win unlock or four-task board in that clip.

The same 20+ Wins Quests label appears on MeddysonTD’s shop lobby capture (Sv4SgTBFMWU ~10s), which supports the unlock gate but not per-quest gem amounts.

What we do not know (unverified): average matches per quest, daily refresh rules, code rewards in gems, or any hidden quest reroll costs. Aggregator sites sometimes list gem bundles or code payouts—we do not treat those as verified for this game.

Can you buy gems with Robux?

MeddysonTD says he bought gems with Robux near the end of his TV Spider video and opened 30+ more Spider attempts (zHfmcl5zdBo ~8:01). In his TV Woman video he says he is holding 4,000 gems before more Spider Crate pulls (BvvGAZLRC2U ~1:01), and the lobby HUD at ~1:28 reads 4,000 next to his coins (same frame as on our all units guide). Nothing on screen says where those gems came from.

We did not read a live Robux → gems price in any frame we kept, so this page lists no Robux gem prices. A few third-party stat sites quote gem bundle prices; with no on-screen proof, we left them out.

What does the Spider Crate cost and what are the odds?

The Exclusive Spider Crate price board in early-October Shop footage lists:

Bundle Gem cost Effective cost per single open
Buy 1 100 100
Buy 3 300 100
Buy 10 1000 100

Vaulted Values X says there is no discount for tens unlike the coin basic crate (MhtBS1AEEwo ~6:17).

Drop rows on the same board read:

Unit Listed rate Vaulted Values X notes
Speaker Spider 90% Common filler (~500 DPS at max in their guide)
Camera Spider 9.8% “Real prize” (~3,500 DPS, ~10 pulls ≈ 1,000 gems)
TV Spider 0.2% ~500 pulls ≈ 50,000 gems in their average

MeddysonTD says the Buy 10 shop control was disabled while Buy 3 still worked (zHfmcl5zdBo ~4:31). When opening stored crates, a popup still offered Open 1 and Open 10 (600s)—shop purchase versus inventory open may differ; we only have his one session.

How many gems does a Spider Crate prize really cost?

Assume independent pulls at the posted rates and 100 gems per single open.

Quest conversion (Vaulted Values X narration, our arithmetic):

Gem total Quests at 5 gems each Full four-quest boards at 20 gems
100 20 5
1,000 200 50
50,000 10,000 2,500

Camera Spider (9.8%): probability of at least one in n pulls = 1 − (0.902)^n (our arithmetic):

Pulls n P(at least one Camera Spider) Gems at 100 each
5 40.3% 500
10 64.3% 1,000
20 87.3% 2,000

TV Spider (0.2%): 1 − (0.998)^n (our arithmetic; MeddysonTD’s voiceover rounds similar thresholds):

Pulls n P(at least one TV Spider) Gems at 100 each
100 18.1% 10,000
347 50.1% 34,700
500 63.2% 50,000
1,000 86.5% 100,000
1,151 90.0% 115,100
2,301 99.0% 230,100

MeddysonTD says roughly 347 pulls for 50%, above 1,000 for 90%, and above 2,300 for near-guarantee (zHfmcl5zdBo ~9:02). Our arithmetic lands at 347, 1151, and 2301 pulls for 50%, 90%, and 99%—same story, slightly different rounding than his “2.3 thousand” phrasing.

Vaulted Values X says TV Spider’s tooltip 40 range is walk range, while attack range only reaches 20 (MhtBS1AEEwo ~6:47). MeddysonTD’s TV Spider card frame shows Walk Range 15→40 and Range 11→20 separately (58s).

Is the Spider Crate worth your gems?

Vaulted Values X says to save gems for Camera Spider, treat TV Spider as a lottery, and only chase it if you accept losing the gem stack (MhtBS1AEEwo ~9:24). On the tier list they call TV Spider strongest on paper but “a trade, not a pull” for most players because of the 50,000-gem average (lRtpetkMJZs ~0:30).

MeddysonTD opened 30 stored Spider crates in one montage without a TV Spider (zHfmcl5zdBo ~8:01). Our arithmetic: (0.998)^30 ≈ 94.2% chance of zero TV Spiders in 30 independent pulls—unlucky, but normal at 0.2%.

Cameraman Tower Defense Units inventory at 68 of 500 slots filled mostly with Camera Spider duplicates after gem crate sessions.

Screenshot source: MeddysonTD on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHfmcl5zdBo&t=270s). The Camera Spider tooltip reads DPS 100→3500, Walk Range 15→35, and Range 10→20, so the roughly 3,500 DPS figure above is a card readout as well as narration.

Editorial suggestion (untested): If you are free-to-play, finish the beginner guide win loop, treat Vaulted Values X’s quest route as the main documented gem faucet, and stop at Camera Spider odds unless you enjoy gambling. Whales mirroring MeddysonTD should still budget inventory space—500 units adds up fast when 90% pulls are Speaker Spiders.
